Here's another one from Danny. This is from a while ago, but I haven't been on here in a while... :-)
Hey mom, I think i am going to be using this email from now on becuase the unr address takes forever here, and this doesnt. So, I have yet to read your letter so far, and i have been here for over an hour, but i will just let you know how the week went and then when I can get the other letter I will respond to it. I talked with sis. Wire today, and she said that you were really excited to hear from here, so thats cool. She will be sending you some pictures. Still no package, but i should be getting it this next zone conference, in two weeks. I cant. wait. I bought a few milky ways a couple days ago, and they were delicious and over a dollar. The mission is going great. Our area is sooooo coooool. I am in total bush and so i have been able to see some monkeys, and get really fresh fruit. I have a mango almost every day, and then I got some pineapple, and watermelon, and other good foods. I dont know, I think I may actually end up coming back a little bigger than when I left, which would be really cool. I cant believe I have been here for almost two months, but I still have a long way to go. We have a couple of baptisms lined up for the end of the month, which should be pretty cool. On saturday we went over to a members house in our district, and we got to play with a little chimpanzee. We were in a small room, and we wrestled, and it would swing on stuff, and bite our feet. It was one of the funniest things I have ever experienced. I sent you another letter in the mail, so hopefully it will make it to the house. Speaking of houses, I have only seen like four houses that would even be close to meeting descent back home. And they are really nice here, but in America they would be beggar homes. It is a really big eye opener seeing how some of the people here survive on almost nothing, yet are still happy. A lot of the people I talk to really want to come to America. So, what all have you guys been up to? It doesnt look like I will be reading the emails you sent me any time soon, the internet here is still 100 mbps, which is not very good. Tell everybody that this is my new email, and to resend anything to this one becuase it really isnt very fun waiting for over an hour and still not having a page loaded. So, if you wanted to resend your last letter along with your new one than that would be really nice. I have had some pretty crappy food lately too. I had this stuff called bitter bowl (or something like that), which doesnt even sound appealing, but i had some at a members house with some rice, and it tasted really bad. It was no good. But i had some food at our branch presidents house and it was really good, but really really really spicy. They love peppers here, litterally. It is in every food. I bought some powdered milk the other day, and i mix it in the morning for rice cereal, which actually tastes pretty good, i got some brown sugar too. But i tried it with some fruit loops and it tasted real bad. All the food here is cheap though, if you get african food, it doesnt cost more than 2.00 usd for a filling meal and a drink. But if you get american food, its crazy expensive. I bought a small box of pop tarts for over 5.00 usd. no good. I eat pb and j sandwiches all the time too, and eggs. We buy most of our food in a market, which isnt too great. Its cheap but there are flies and other things around that just make it smell like it would give you the trotts. Speaking of which, i have yet to have diahrreah, which is really astounding becuase i have had some stuff that looks like it would put you in bed for weeks. Well, now that i wrote you a book, i got to write bekah. Tell Terry to email me becuase i forgot his address. Okay, loves. Love,Elder Gaxiola
